Fuel distribution to commence today (16)

COLOMBO (News 1st); All Ceylon Petroleum Private Tanker Owners’ Association said that the distribution of fuel which was suspended for the Vesak festival will resume from today (16).

Accordingly, fuel will be available at filling stations in Colombo by this afternoon.

Meanwhile, three fuel tankers have been anchored in Sri Lankan waters for nearly a week, as the country has been unable to make payments for those shipments due to the shortage of dollars.

The Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) Sumith Wijesinghe stated that three vessels carrying stocks of Petrol, crude oil, and Furnace oil have been anchored in Sri Lankan waters.

He said the necessary payments will be settled on Tuesday (17).
