Supply chain backlogs are clearing, but the higher costs of fuels, labour and energy will keep charges at pre-pandemic levels

Global freight and logistics costs will remain high for some time, a senior executive at global software giant SAP has warned.

Clas Neumann, senior vice-president at the German multinational and head of its global labs network, said supply chains are beginning to normalise after the disruption of the last two years, but added that he didn’t expect prices to come down.

“I think the backlogs are nearly all cleared up,” Neumann told the Business Post.
