Freestore Foodbank announces Thanksgiving food distribution changes due to COVID-19 concerns

CINCINNATI — Due to health and safety concerns for customers, volunteers and staff during the coronavirus pandemic, the Freestore Foodbank is changing how they’re going to be distributing Thanksgiving meals this holiday season, the charity released in a statement Tuesday evening.

Families looking for assistance in providing a traditional turkey dinner can pick up a meal donation during the entire month of November at the Liberty Street Market in Over-the-Rhine.

People getting food will get a choice between taking a pre-sorted box or picking out their own items from a selection of stuffing, mac and cheese, a turkey and fresh produce.

The Freestore Foodbank is also hosting a drive-thru Thanksgiving holiday food distribution site at the Reds Youth Academy in Roselawn in the 2000 block of Seymour Avenue Nov. 20 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
