Freeport industrial property trades for $14.5M

An industrial property in Freeport has sold for $14.5 million. 

Uniware Houseware Corp. purchased the 114,575-square-foot building on 3.18 acres at 1 Newport Plaza. 

Uniware, a distributor and wholesaler of kitchen utensils, cookware, bath supplies and other household items, is expanding and relocating from the Heartland Business Center in Edgewood. 

The Freeport building features 21-foot-high ceilings and eight loading docks. It was formerly owned and occupied by Newport Sales, a reseller of health and beauty products. 

Bob Desmond of Industry One Realty represented the buyer, while Chuck Tabone and Dan Gazzola of Newmark represented seller AML Realty LLC in the sales transaction.
