Free face masks to be distributed Monday to rail, bus riders

Free face masks will be distributed Monday to Connecticut rail and bus passengers at various locations around the state, the Department of Transportation has announced.

Under an executive order issued by Gov. Ned Lamont, masks are required on all buses and trains.

The face mask distribution is being done ahead of the normally busy holiday travel season.

The following are the times and locations of the face masks distribution:

Rail stations

New Haven Union Station – 7 to 9 a.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Stamford Station – 7 to 9 a.m.

Bridgeport Station – 7 to 9 a.m.

Hartford Union Station – 7:15 to 9 a.m. and and 3 to 5:30 p.m.

Old Saybrook Station – 6:30 to 8:45 a.m.

Bus stations

CTtransit service areas: 7 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m.

CTfastrak (New Britain/Newington/West Hartford/Hartford) – onboard buses and at all other CTfastrak stations.

Hartford – CTtransit customer service and sales outlet located at State and Market streets, adjacent to the Old State House.

New Haven – CTtransit customer service and sales outlet located on the New Haven Green at Chapel Street.

Stamford – CTtransit customer service and sales outlet located on the lower level of the Stewart B. McKinney Transportation Center in the passageway from North State Street.

Waterbury – Exchange Place (downtown center), Waterbury.

Meriden – Meriden Train Station, 60 State St.

New Britain (DATTCO) – Columbus Boulevard/Bank Street pulse point, New Britain 10 a.m. to noon.

Other transit providers

Distribution times are from 7 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m.

Collins – 1105 Strong Road, South Windsor.

Estuary – Old Saybrook train station.

Greater Bridgeport Transit – GBT Bus Station, 710 Water St., Bridgeport.

Greater New Haven Transit District – 1014 Sherman Ave., Hamden,

Housatonic Area Regional Transit – 3 Kennedy Ave., Danbury.

Middletown Area Transit- Middletown Bus Terminal, 340 Main St.

Milford Transit District – Bus hub at the Connecticut Post Mall, 1202 Boston Post Road.

Northwestern Connecticut Transit District (Candystriper) – Torrington Municipal Parking Lot, 12 Daycoeton Place and 957 East Main St.

Norwalk Transit District – Wheels HUB, 10 Belden Ave.

Southeast Transit District – New London Water Street bus stop (adjacent to Amtrak/Shore Line East);

Norwich Transportation Center, 10 Falls Ave.

Valley Transit District – Derby/Shelton train station, 1 Main St. Derby
