Former Wendy Wu Tours boss to join rival in temporary role – Travel Weekly

Wholesaler Collette has confirmed the appointment of Troy Ackerman as its director of strategic partnerships.

Ackerman, who departed Wendy Wu Tours last Friday after less than three months as its Australian boss, will join Collette on Monday in an 18-month role to cover Amanda McCann’s maternity leave.

Prior to that, Ackerman worked at Globus as its Kiwi GM for more than six-and-a-half years.

In his new role, Ackerman will report to Collette’s senior vice president of global business, Christian Leibl-Cote.

“Troy has an excellent background in many markets spanning two decades, starting in retail followed by the touring sector,” Leibl-Cote said.

“Troy brings this considerable expertise to build on the excellent industry partnerships we have formed and nurtured in the past five years. It’s a hugely exciting time at Collette and the Australian division in particular.”

Commenting on his appointment, Ackerman said: “I’ve followed Collette’s progress here in Australia with interest since 2014 and have been really impressed.

“The overall product range looks phenomenal, as does the company culture and their genuine passion for their guests and team.

“I’m excited to be part of their success moving forward and am looking forward to extending the amazing growth they have seen in this market, and expanding into new ones.”
