A “number” of employees are also now self-isolating as a result of the breakout.
Bosses at the factory added that it is taking all precautionary measures in accordance to the Scottish Government’s health advice.
A spokesman said: “Lightbody can confirm that five employees have tested positive for COVID-19 whilst off shift.
“A comprehensive track and trace has been implemented and, as a precaution, a number of employees have been isolated for the government guided 14 day period.
“No members of staff are being told to come back to work before their own isolation period finishes.
“We would like to reassure all of our employees that we are taking this very seriously and that their health and safety is our top priority.
“We have taken all necessary precautionary measures, guided by government advice, on how to respond and continue to maintain our high standards of hygiene, PPE use and social distancing best practice.”
