Fire Island ferry service to Ocean Beach suspended

Ferry and water taxi services to Ocean Beach were suspended Tuesday.

The village and Fire Island Ferries couldn’t reach a rental agreement involving the docks and ferry terminal.

As of now, passenger ferries headed for Ocean Beach will arrive and depart from Seaview.

Meanwhile, freight will be re-directed to Ocean Bay Park.

Water taxi services to and from Ocean Beach are completely suspended.

There’s no word on when all of the ferry services could come back.

Fire Island Ferries issued a statement, saying in part they are hoping for a resolution with the village soon.

The village of Ocean Beach did not return News 12’s calls for comment.
