Fire breaks out at fabric factory

Ambala, November 26


A major fire broke out at Pratap Fabrics Private Limited situated at Mohra village on Ambala-Delhi national highway on late Tuesday evening.


No casualty or injuries were reported so far. The fire broke out around 8 pm and fire engines from Ambala Cantonment, Ambala City, Shahabad and Kurukshetra were pressed into the service.


District Fire Officer Amar Singh said, “There are rolls of fabric inside the factory. Efforts are being made to douse the flames.”


After getting information, Home Minister and MLA Anil Vij, DC Ashok Sharma, SP Abhishek Jorwal, DSP Ram Kumar also rushed to the spot.


Meanwhile, two cops, including In-charge of Mohra police post got injured in an accident when they were on their way towards the incident site. While the In-charge has been referred to GMCH-32, the other cop has been undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital, Ambala. — TNS
