Ludhiana: Two men brutally assaulted a commuter and robbed him of his motorcycle, mobile phone and cash in Sahnewal area. The biker was on the way to his house when the robbers intercepted his way and attacked him.
The victim, identified as Pradeep Kumar of Vishkarma Town, Dhuri Line, suffered severe head injuries and was admitted to a hospital. Pradeep worked in a factory. Around 10.30pm, he was returning from the factory when two miscreants on a motorcycle intercepted his way near Dhandari area .
Pradeep said when he resisted the crime, the accused assaulted him with a sharp-edged weapon. As he collapsed on the road, the accused took away his wallet, mobile phone and bike. An FIR under Sections 379-B (snatching) and 34 (Act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC has been lodged against the unidentified accused. tnn
