Factory agrees to invest $60K in Kalamazoo neighborhoods as part of proposed expansion agreement

KALAMAZOO, MI — A proposed agreement between Graphic Packaging International and the city of Kalamazoo includes the company holding job fairs, contracting a community liaison, spending an estimated $60,000 to promote inclusivity and economic empowerment in the surrounding neighborhoods and more.

GPI has agreed to enter into the proposed Community Benefits Agreement that will direct the company to undertake additional efforts to address the impact of its $600 million expansion project on city residents in the Northside and Eastside neighborhoods, the city agenda packet states.
