An explosion set a southern Indiana industrial company on fire Thursday.According to Indiana authorities, the explosion happened just before 10 a.m. and ignited a fire at Thomas Plastics Machinery Inc. in Scottsburg. The surrounding area was evacuated due to winds blowing smoke.Indiana State Police’s Carey Huls said at least one person was injured. EMA director Jeff Fortner said they were flown to UofL Health and the injuries were non-life threatening.Indiana fire officials confirmed that person was an employee.It’s unclear at this time what exploded, causing the building to erupt in flames. Fire marshals will investigate after the fire is out.Traffic on US 31 near the area is being impacted. INDOT said all lanes are closed in the area of South Gardner Road between Armory Place and Bellevue Avenue.
