Ensure hassle-free paddy procurement: CS

Chief Secretary RP Mandal on Sunday made surprise inspection at paddy procurement centres of Karanji and Chhapar Bhanpuri of the Bastar district.

Food Secretary Dr Kamal Preet Singh and Managing Director of MARKFED Shammi Abidi accompanied him during the inspection.

According to official sources while making inspection of procurement process, the chief secretary expressed dissatisfaction about the ‘stumping’ work on gunny bags.

Asserting that paddy procurement is the topmost priority of the state government, he instructed the officials concerned to make necessary arrangements for making hassle-free procurement from the farmers.

During the inspection, he instructed officials to make proper arrangements for stacking and drainage system. Officials of district administration and Zila Panchayat were also present on this occasion. 

Notable, the process of paddy procurement in state which commenced on December 1 this year will last for 75 days and will end on February 15, 2020.
