EDMOND — The city of Edmond’s solid waste department is indefinitely suspending new orders for extra solid waste carts.
The change will begin immediately and is necessary as the city’s cart supplier has extended order turnaround time from three weeks to 18 weeks or more due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a city news release.
Residents who have damaged carts still can report issues to Utility Customer Service at 359-4541 or [email protected]. A technician will determine whether the damaged cart can be repaired, or a replacement will be provided if the damage is too severe.
Any customer who has an additional cart, and no longer needs it, is encouraged to contact Utility Customer Service, and they can have the cart picked up. Those carts can assist the city during the supply crunch, and the customer will eliminate the extra cart fee of $7 from their monthly bill.
