EDISON – A township-based furniture wholesaler will expand its operation near Talmadge Road.

J & M Furniture recently received preliminary and final site plan approval as well as use and bulk variances from the Edison Zoning Board of Adjustment to demolish an existing 19,990-square-foot warehouse at 44 National Road, off Talmadge Road.

In its place the wholesaler will construct a new 53,020-square-foot warehouse in a light industrial zone and use an existing 32,968-square-foot building solely as a retail showroom. No structural changes are planned, according to township documents.

The wholesaler features modern living room, dining room, bedroom and workspace furniture including a bedroom collection made in Portugal and Spain as well as high-grade leather sofas and sectionals, according to the company’s website.
