DP World, the Dubai- based provider of worldwide smart end-to-end supply chain logistics, has donated $100,000 to the Lebanese Red Cross to support its life-saving work in the aftermath of the explosion at Beirut Port.

Hundreds of Lebanese Red Cross emergency medical personnel have been working in neighbourhoods damaged by the blast, treating the injured and taking them to hospital, and searching for survivors.

Lebanon’s Cabinet has declared a two-week state of emergency.

Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO, DP World, said: “Our sympathy and thoughts are with the people of Lebanon. The leadership and the people of the UAE stand by the Lebanese people and offer our support in this ordeal.

“We extend our condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.”
