Dickson Hong Chan passed away peacefully, with his devoted wife by his side, at the age of 69 on September 4, 2022 in San Francisco, CA.
Dickson was the loving husband to Chitra for 31 years, and caring father to Amanda and Hannah.
Dickson was born on March 21, 1953 in San Francisco, CA. His parents (deceased) were Kai Hong and Darm Hor Chan (China). He received his B.A. in Finance from San Francisco State University.
He had a long and successful career in sales, building strong and enduring relationships over the years with customers and co-workers across a variety of industries. This included his time working as a real estate broker, fine jewelry wholesaler and importer, and in direct sales for major telecom companies. Dickson was an avid fan of the NFL, NBA, and MLB, with a particular love for his hometown teams. He also loved relaxing by watching the latest movies a pastime that he enjoyed most when shared over popcorn with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife; his daughters; his siblings and in-laws Tamara Chan, Corinne and Bert Dare, Serene Chan Chua, Elaine Chan, Paul and Patricia Chan, Noreen and Harlan Wong, Eison and Iris Chan, and Maylene Chan; and multiple nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Sidney Chan, and brother-in-law Joseph Chua.
A service in honor of Dickson s memory will be held on Monday, September 12th at 12:30 pm at Cypress Lawn, Newall Chapel, 1383 El Camino Real, Colma, CA.
