Dept Buys Data Science and Software Firm Raybeam

In the US, digital agency Dept has acquired data science and software engineering consulting firm Raybeam, which develops custom data-driven apps and tools. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Dimi AlbersFounded in 1997, Raybeam specializes in building platforms for SEO / SEM, data warehousing and business intelligence. Its applications and tools focus on process automation and algorithmic problems such as bidding, routing and recommendation as well as other sales, marketing and customer-focused solutions. The firm employs more than 100 engineers and consultants at offices in Newburyport, MA; Mountain View, CA; and Austin, TX.

Dept is headquartered in Amsterdam, and employs more than 2,500 people across five continents. In the US, the acquisition adds to its full-service product agency Rocket Insights and custom software development business Devetry, while bolstering its proprietary martech platform Ada.
