A Denver woman was sentenced Friday to 15 years in federal prison for distribution of heroin resulting in an overdose death.
Ariel Nicole Walker, 31, who was sentenced by U.S. District Judge R. Brooke Jackson, also was ordered to serve five years of supervised release pending completion of the prison term, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
On May 31, 2018, Walker and Kayla Pagano, who was prosecuted separately in federal court, sold heroin to a user who injected the drug and passed out. The victim’s body was found in a Denver alley.
Walker arranged the heroin buy, and Pagano sold the drug, according to the district attorney’s office. Pagano has been sentenced to six years and five months in federal prison.
