Dems patriotic to brave
risks of impeachment
For the Democrats, the impeachment brings considerable political risk.
Republicans have made that a talking point, thinking it strengthens their case. Sadly, they’re completely missing the bigger picture. The Democrats, clearly, are making a stand on principle. They know full well that this president will be acquitted by our vertebrally challenged Senate, and that may hurt them in the next (possibly rigged) election.
That certain acquittal, and the political risk that comes with it, clearly shows that this impeachment is a courageous and patriotic act by the Democrats, placing the country and the Constitution over allegiance to any political party.
The Republicans, on the other hand, have chosen to hitch their wagon to a hypocritical, prevaricating narcissist over America and its Constitution. They may win this round, but I don’t think history will be so kind.
