Deadline Detroit | White Christmas delayed by supply chain; expect delivery by New Year’s Day

The first significant snowfall of winter is expected over the weekend, as rain turns to snow late Saturday night. The Detroit area could get around three inches, with areas farther north accumulating half a foot or more.

Fox 2 Detroit and others are sounding the alert for weekend travelers:

New Year’s Day will be wet at times, but not a total washout, and we’ll change over to snow later on Saturday into the night and the snow will continue into Sunday morning.

…We will turn sharply colder behind the weekend system with temperatures in the 20s and teens Sunday and Monday.

Meteorologists warn that these are predictions, so confine your betting to New Year’s football games. But make sure your boots are nearby and a windshield scraper in your car.
