Guillaume de Subercasaux (pictured) has been appointed Head of Global Indirect Procurement at Schindler Group, the lift and escalator manufacturer. The appointment took effect at the start of this month.
Mr. de Subercasaux has been with Schindler since 2015, first as Global Category Manager for Indirect Procurement, and since 2020 as Global Category Manager for Mobility and Procurement Sustainability.
Among other achievements, Mr. de Subercasaux in the former position reviewed the racking policy for Schindler’s vans, introduced electric vans, and also added bikes and cargo bikes to the mix. In the latter, one of his jobs was overseeing the spread of telematics across national fleets, each with their own preferred supplier.
“With this new role, I will be managing all the Global Indirect Procurement category managers: IT, Logistics, Professional Services, Facility, Travel, etcetera,” says Mr. de Subercasaux. “For the time being, I will continue to manage the Car Fleet category myself, due to some ongoing strategic projects. Potentially, a new category manager will be appointed within 12 to 18 months.”
Schindler has a fleet of around 22,000 vehicles globally, of which around 15,000 in Europe. About 60% are cars, 40% are vans. Most (80%) are tool vehicles, with 15% for sales and 5% for management. Almost all vehicles are leased.
