Ludhiana, August 7

An awareness campaign launched by the the Civil Surgeon office today received a huge response when factory owners took the initiative of getting their workers tested for Covid 19. Awareness teams of the mass media wing of the Health Department had sensitised the owners of various industrial units to the Covid guidelines yesterday and also persuaded them for the sampling of their workers.

The Civil Surgeon, Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga, said the awareness teams had contacted the industrialists under Mission Fateh. The latter were informed how important was Covid testing for workers. They were told a single infected worker could spread infection to the entire work force.

The samples of employees were collected for Covid-19 testing at Jamalpur today.

On the occasion, an awareness team apprised the factory owners about the Covid-19 advisory which says that every factory should have sanitiser or water supply at the entrance, worker’s temperature should be checked before entry, social distancing must be followed inside the factory, each worker should have food on his own seat and workers should be encouraged to bring their own water bottles.
