Covid-19: Western Cape legally allowed to procure own vaccines but accused of ‘politicising pandemic’

There has been a striking lack of detail surrounding the Western Cape government’s plan to procure its own Covid-19 vaccines, leading to accusations that the province is politicising the pandemic, according to Good Party secretary-general Brett Herron.

However, public health expert Professor Alex van den Heever has said the province was well within its rights to procure its own vaccines.
