congress: Cong Adopts Five-pronged Strategy On Procurement | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: The five-pronged strategy of the Congress to exert pressure on the TRS and BJP governments to work out a formula to procure every grain of Yasangi paddy from the farmers in Telangana commenced on Sunday.
Congress members started erecting banners and flexies in the villages demanding procurement of paddy by the state government. The Congress programmes for the cause of paddy farmers will be intensified from Tuesday. It started on a slow note on Sunday, said a senior party leader.
The Congress strategy includes exerting pressure on the state government to set up paddy procurement centres in every village, make arrangements for crores of gunny bags and lorries for transportation of paddy.
In the coming days, the Congress leaders led by its Kisan Cell members would hold protest demonstrations and submit memorandum to the officers in all mandals and district collector offices. Dharnas would be held at all the Ambedkar statues in the state.
All the top leaders of the Congress will participate in mass dharna programmes at civil supplies bhavan in Hyderabad, and also public meetings would be held in every district on the lines of the ongoing ‘mana vooru mana poru’ campaign.
Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy has accused the TRS and BJP of playing the blame game to ensure that the political heat is maintained only between these two parties. But the farmers have understood their paddy politics, he said.
Revanth said it is the farmers who have informed him that they are in no way concerned with the blame game being played by the state and central government over the procurement of raw or boiled rice. “The farmers said they produce paddy and it has to be procured from them in that form only. It is up to the state or central government what they do with the paddy,” he said.
