Combat Aircraft Procurement is of Strategic Importance for Croatia

ZAGREB, Aug 18, 2020 – Defence Minister Mario Banozic said on Tuesday in Zemunik that the procurement of multipurpose combat aircraft was of strategic importance for Croatia.

“I believe that this is crucial for the further development of the capabilities of the Croatian Air Force and for improving the security of Croatia, as well as the stability in this part of Europe,” Minister Banozic said during a working visit to the “Colonel Mirko Vukusic” barracks in Zemunik outside Zadar.

In Zemunik, Banozic especially thanked the members of the Croatian Air Force for their engagement in the firefighting season, which, he said, was more demanding in its first part compared to last year.

During his stay in Zemunik, Banozic visited the squadrons and accommodation facilities of the barracks, and the Multinational Special Aviation Programme Training Centre (MSAP TC), the activities of which were presented by MSAP TC director, Colonel Tomislav Pusnik, Croatian Defence Ministry said in a press release.
