Harlingen, Texas (KVEO)—The City of Harlingen will be distributing sandbags to residents and businesses on Friday.

The bags are already filled so residents will have to show their ID verifying their Harlingen address.

Residents will also need a water bill showing they have garbage service with the city. They will then drive through and city employees will load the bags for them.

Residents will be allowed six bags and businesses 12.

The City’s Emergency Management Team will continue to monitor the weather conditions and if it becomes necessary, more sandbag distribution locations will be opened.” said the release.
