Cargolux Airlines has successfully passed its GDP (good distribution practice) renewal audit covering its pharma handling processes.
The full re-certification attests that the company’s management system fulfils the requirements of the European Union directive ‘Guidelines on Good Distribution Practice of Medicinal Products for Human Use’ and of WHO guidelines.
Franco Nanna, Cargolux director global logistics services, said: “Cargolux is proud of this achievement and the commitment our teams continuously demonstrate to the requirements of the EU Directive.
“Healthcare and pharmaceuticals are highly sensitive products and we want to ensure our customers’ peace of mind during the transportation process. This certification represents a seal of approval from the industry which we intend to uphold in line with our commitment to service excellence.”
Highlighting its pharma capabilities, the airline said that it had a dedicated team of cool chain experts “experienced in the handling of healthcare goods to ensure seamless service”.
Cargolux became the world’s first GDP-certified airline in January 2014. Meanwhile, its hub at Luxembourg airport is also GDP-certified.
