C-i-C General Officer Lt Gen Surinder Singh Mahal visits CMM

Lieutenant General Surinder Singh Mahal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), Vishisht Seva Medal VSM), General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Training Command visited College of Materials Management (CMM), the alma mater of Army Ordnance Corps from June 1 to 3,.

The Army Commander was briefed on the various training initiatives of the College for Indian Army persons in Munition Management, Logistics, Material Management and Supply Chain Management as well as Counter IED training. The General Officer was also given an overview on the training being imparted to trainees of Friendly Foreign Countries and latest projects undertaken in the College towards infrastructure development and habitat improvement.

The Army Commander evinced keen interest in the pedagogy of ammunition training, as the niche area of expertise of the College. The concept of System Based Class Rooms for achieving holistic understanding of the nuances of armament & ammunition including its management was appreciated by the General Officer.

He complimented the College on its future ready/futuristic training methodology and exhorted all ranks to stay focused towards modernisation aspects & futuristic trends in training. He also appreciated the upkeep and maintenance of the campus and projects undertaken for infrastructure development. He appreciated the automation & digitisation initiatives including implementation of SAP (ERP) application in the Corps.

The General Officer felicitated four outstanding achievers of the College for their excellence in their respective fields by conferring the ‘On the Spot’ GOC-in-C Commendation Cards.
