Brownstown Town Council meeting today

The Brownstown Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. today at the town hall, 116 E. Cross St., Brownstown.

Agenda items include a tax abatement request for E&H Tubing and discussion about bids for a project to expand Riverview Cemetery.

E&H is located in a 100,000-square-facility at 848 W. Sweet St. and a second 70,000-square-foot building used for operations and storage at Sugar and Bridge streets. The company manufactures a variety of styles of round and square tubing for use in gates, carports, trailers, boat docks and material handling.

The town opened three bids for the cemetery expansion at the Sept. 6 meeting. Three firms bid: Mitchell & Stark Construction Co. Inc. of Medora, King’s Trucking & Excavation Inc. of Seymour and All-Star Paving Inc. of Seymour. All-Star was allowed to rewrite its bid after an error was found in it.

Council meetings are open to the public and press.
