Breakbulk – C.H. Robinson Delivers Texas Transformer

Freight forwarder C.H. Robinson has transported a decommissioned transformer unit across state in Texas to a mesa hilltop wind farm.

Weighing 59 tonnes and measuring over five meters in length, the transformer was transported in two parts along with accessories, weighing 30 tonnes. The cargo was moved 30 miles to the destination site across challenging terrain.

“An all-terrain forklift that was transported to both origin and destination sites and was used to load and unload the loose equipment,” a spokesperson for C.H. Robinson said.

Based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, C.H. Robinson provides breakbulk services worldwide and is a member of member of the Project Cargo Network, or PCN, which connects over 240 specialist members in more than 100countries.
