Blackgram and greengram would be procured through regulated markets functioning under the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Agri Business in the district till June 29, Collector Dinesh Ponraj Oliver has said.
In a press release Mr.Oliver said that blackgram and greengram would be procured at Thanjavur, Kumbakondam, Papanasam and Orathanadu regulated markets. A procurement target of 1,900 tonnes has been set for blackgram and 600 tonnes for greengram, he said.
The procurement price of blackgram will be ₹63 a kg and that of greengram ₹72.75 a kg. Farmers who wish to sell their produce at the markets can register their names with the respective regulated market by producing the required documents, he said.
