Big freight rate increases could boost Maersk’s operating profit in first quarter

Even though the price of the Maersk share is currently sliding in a negative Danish stock market, the operating profit of the world’s largest container line is doing very well.

Maersk is likely headed for an operating profit, EBITDA, of more than USD 6 billion in the first three months of the year, and USD 10 billion for the full year 2021, projects broker Clarksons Platou Securities.
