MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Chief U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh sentenced a Baltimore man Monday to two years and nine months in prison for drug distribution, U.S. Attorney Bill Powell announced.
Gary Thorton, 29, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute heroin and cocaine base in February 2020, Powell said in a news release. Thorton admitted to working with another person to distribute heroin and cocaine from April 2015 to July 2015 in Berkeley County.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara K. Omps-Botteicher prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crime Task Force investigated the allegations.
