Auditor-General Tsakani Maluleke has agreed to investigate the findings of two reports centred on corrupt activities at Eskom after fired chief procurement officer, Solly Tshitangano, requested her intervention.

Tshitangano was dismissed on May 28 after disciplinary tribunal chairperson Nazeer Cassim SC found that he had promoted the interests of fuel supplier Econ Oil & Energy above those of Eskom when the company was awarded contracts worth R8 billion. This matter comprises the first report.
