Army’s Radiological Waste Cleanup Procurement Withstands Protest

Coastal Environmental Group Inc. failed to show that the US Army Corps of Engineers conducted an unreasonable past performance evaluation before denying it a contract for remediation services at hazardous and radiological waste sites, according to the GAO decision released Thursday.

The agency reasonably assigned Coastal a weakness for past performance because none of the projects the company submitted included construction of groundwater treatment plants and extraction well systems requiring long term operation, the Government Accountability Office said.

Coastal conceded that its past projects didn’t meet criteria in the solicitation, the GAO said.
