Army Issues RFI for Enterprise Cloud Common Shared Services Procurement Effort

Cloud computing

The U.S. Army has asked industry to provide insights to help inform its strategy for the acquisition of enterprise cloud common shared services to address duplication, improve security, reduce complexity and expand the service’s cloud computing platforms.

A request for information notice posted Wednesday says the service branch wants information on industry approaches to operate, design and develop existing cARMY common shared services in Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms and capability to maximize use of configuration-as-code, infrastructure-as-code and machine-based automation to support the operation of common services.

Interested stakeholders should provide insights on industry approaches to help customers as they onboard to the cArmy enterprise cloud environment.

According to the draft statement of objectives, the contractor should conduct initial assessment of cArmy common shared services, deploy Impact Level 6 common services in Microsoft Azure, provide help desk and training support, propose a service level agreement, oversee subcontract management and meet certain cybersecurity requirements, among others.

Responses to the RFI are due Nov. 20.
