Amazon plans another new shipping center in Dallas-Fort Worth

E-commerce giant Amazon is adding to its North Texas distribution network.

The Seattle-based digital retailer is planning a new 219,000-square-foot delivery station in North Fort Worth.

The shipping hub will be at Litsey Road and North Beach Street in a building owned by Hillwood Development Co., according to filings with the state.

The $40 million distribution center is set to open next year.

In recent months, Amazon has expanded with multiple new delivery stations in Arlington, Mansfield, Fort Worth, McKinney and Frisco.

These shipping centers are smaller than Amazon’s larger regional distribution hubs and are considered “last mile” components of the company’s huge fulfillment operations.

Arlington-based PDMS Design Group is the architect for the projects.

Amazon is already Dallas-Fort Worth’s largest warehouse building occupant, with more than 12 million square feet of space. With COVID-19 causing a surge in home deliveries, Amazon is adding to its North Texas distribution network with millions of square feet of additional warehouse space.
