Seven weeks have elapsed since the Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards completed one of the biggest deals of the 2022 NBA trade deadline. Dallas sent former All-Star big man Kristaps Porziņģis and a protected 2022 second-round pick to Washington for guard Spencer Dinwiddie and forward Dāvis Bertāns.
On Friday night, the Mavericks and Wizards will play each other for the first time since their blockbuster, which begs a question: How has the trade panned out for both teams so far?

It was a past-centric conversation, talking about our surprise at the deal and why the respective situations hadn’t worked out. But with Dallas visiting Washington for a matchup this Friday, I thought it was worth checking in again.
