Pandemic puts fizz into hi-tech supply chain platforms, says Keelvar boss | Ireland

The founder of a Cork-based software company that secured €16m in venture capital funding during the coronavirus outbreak says the pandemic has accelerated adoption of cutting-edge technologies.

Keelvar, a firm that specialises in developing strategic supply chain platforms for blue-chip firms, including Siemens, Coca-Cola, BMW and Samsung, announced the deal earlier this month. Bosses plan to use the cash injection to hire staff, further expansion plans for Europe and America, and invest in machine intelligence research and development.

Chief executive and founder Alan Holland says demand for automated solutions has rocketed during the pandemic, as travel restrictions place unprecedented strain on global supply chains.
