The wheat procurement process will continue till May 31, 2020, in Punjab as per the Central Government’s orders. Announcing this, the state Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu on Wednesday appealed to the farmers of the State, whose wheat was yet not reached the mandis for any reason, that they could bring their wheat crop for sale in mandi before 6 pm on May 31, 2020. “Various rules are being implemented in the State in view of the instructions of the Health Department regarding wheat procurement to protect the farmers, labour and Government employees from the risk of coronavirus”, said Ashu.
