I went through the syringe “exchange” line like a “customer” recently. This is not an “exchange,” this is a mecca for drug users.
They supplied me with 100 syringes at no hesitation, and I didn’t turn in a single one. They didn’t ask me my age or for identification. They supply tie offs and “cookers” to cook illegal drugs in. This is a distribution center!
We don’t want this here, yet our city council has failed us. We the people are speaking up and not one of them said they would advocate for us. Why? Isn’t that why they were elected? To speak for the citizens.
This program is enabling at its finest. Might as well change our welcome sign to “The city of no accountability, Welcome to Chico.”
We wouldn’t hand a suicidal person a loaded gun, would we? It’s time for the people to be heard.
