Mercedes-AMG factory stars Raffaele Marciello and Luca Stolz will return to SunEnergy1 Racing for the Rolex 24 at Daytona, joined by Mercedes-blessed pilot Fabian Schiller and team owner/driver Kenny Habul.

Habul, whose team finished runner-up in last year’s race, will remain in the GTD class as part of Mercedes-AMG’s largest-ever field of GT3 machinery in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Marciello, Stolz, Habul and Mikael Grenier served as drivers in the Gradient Racing-run car in 2021, with SunEnergy1’s operational partner for this year’s twice-around-the-clock endurance classic unclear at the moment.

Gradient has already committed to a Michelin Endurance Cup program with its own Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 entry that was campaigned in the WeatherTech Sprint Cup races last year.

Along with entries from Winward Racing, Alegra Motorsports, Gilbert Korthoff and WeatherTech Racing, Mercedes-AMG will have a total of six cars on the grid spread between GTD and the new-for-2022 GTD Pro class.
