Turnover and profits climb at freight giant’s UK arm

Turnover and profits have climbed at the UK arm of a global freight forwarder specialising in beer, wine and distilled spirits, according to newly filed results.

JF Hillebrand UK Ltd forms part of the Germany-headquartered giant that can trace its roots back to the 1940s.

In the year to 31 December 2020, the business turned over £73.9m, up from £70.1m 12 months earlier.

Pre-tax profits also increased to £2.9m from £1.98m, while gross margin jumped to 12.63 per cent from 11.89 per cent.

A statement signed off by directors said volumes had remained strong with a hike in demand from the off-trade sector, although volumes from on-trade customers dropped due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

JF Hillebrand UK is headquartered in Grays, Essex. Hillebrand has operations across the globe, including UK and Ireland sites in Dover, Southampton, Glasgow, Renfrew and Dublin.
