Kennelpak faces supply chain issues

Kennelpak has revealed publicly it is facing supply chain problems resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, notably with the Yakers dog chews brand.

The brand is currently seeing an increased demand of 97% per month compared to this time last year.

In a letter to customers, Kennelpak’s national sales manager, Rob Constance, said: “Like many others, our supply chain has been severely tested by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Since the beginning of the pandemic there have been global shortages of available freight capacity in the market and local lockdowns in both India and the UK significantly impacted this further as governments enforced restrictions on movement in domestic markets, and commandeered freight capacity for PPE transports.”

He added: “We currently use a mixture of sea and air freight to ensure we have adequate supplies of products and to take advantage of available capacity on either option. We are continuing to try and address these temporary difficulties as quickly as we can.

“The situation is very fluid, and we will continue to keep you up to date frequently with the current situation and stock availability for your order requirements.”
