Lloyd’s Underwriters Hit With £2.5M Suit Over Factory Fire

Law360, London (November 12, 2020, 2:37 PM GMT) — The owners of a polystyrene factory are suing a group of Lloyd’s underwriters over their refusal to pay out more than £2.5 million ($3.3 million) after a fire that started in their building completely destroyed a business park.

Quality Pack Ltd., which makes boxes used for takeaway fish and chips and kebabs, filed the recently public High Court claim after the underwriting members of Lloyd’s syndicate 1991 allegedly refused their claim on a commercial insurance policy.
