Moradabad: In a bid to provide relief to the farmers, the government has set up 79 wheat procurement centers in Moradabad. The procurement process has started from April 1 and will go on till mid of June.
The additional district magistrate Surendra Singh held a meeting in his office on Thursday evening and emphasised that any kind of negligence in wheat procurement would not be tolerated.
Meanwhile, after inspecting the procurement centres in the district, the ADM said that justice would be done to farmers by ensuring the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their produce. “Officials will also monitor loading and unloading of the bags,” he said.
“We have set up 79 wheat purchasing centres in the district and are buying the produce of the farmers. Weighing machines, gunny bags, moisture machines are made available at the purchasing centres. This year, six more centers are being opened in the district than last year”, he added.
The ADM has directed the district officials to inspect all essential amenities and make proper arrangements for the farmers at every center, so that they do not face any inconvenience.
