67 employees at Nestlé factory in Solon test positive for COVID-19

SOLON, Ohio — After proactively testing employees following the Thanksgiving holiday, 67 workers at the Nestlé factory in Solon tested positive for COVID-19, according to the company.

Nestlé said that employee testing events are part of the company’s broader precautionary efforts to protect both employees and the community.

Following Thanksgiving, Nestlé said it held employee testing knowing it could be a time of increased risk of community spread.

Around 1,000 employees were tested, Nestlé said.

The company said that it has strict protocols in place to keep employees and facilities safe and have taken several precautionary measures including increased cleaning and sanitation, daily temperature and health screenings, mask requirements and social distancing practices.

Nestlé said employees testing positive is expected with any large organization that has essential workers and when the cases arise they follow those strict protocols.
