23 peaches are being sold at 45 euros as Christmas gifts

While some people might wrinkle their nose at this, and others cry scandal, there are also those who believe that even fruit and vegetables, if properly promoted, can be a precious gift. If that is the case, it will not be surprising to find special fruit packs offered as Christmas presents.

We are dealing here with peaches from Australia packed in a beautiful blue cardboard box with golden lettering. The provenance is highlighted, like an added value. Its price? 45 euro per pack.

The peaches do not appear immediately after opening the box because there is a layer of bubble wrap to protect the content. However, there is no direct contact with plastic but a layer of food grade paper.

“Yes, some have been sold as a Christmas present” said a wholesaler. “Actually, there is nothing weird about it! If valuing fruit in such a way were a habit in Italy as well, there would be greater margins for all”.

We haven’t had a chance to taste yet, but the seller assured us that they are very tasty. Given the cost, they are expected be absolutely delicious.
