20-yr-old labourer critically burnt in factory fire | Dehradun News

Roorkee: A 20-year-old labourer, Subham Kashyap, received severe burn injuries when a fire broke out in a Laksar-based tyre factory near Roorkee around 9am on Sunday. Kashyap, who works in the colouring unit at the tyre finishing unit, was immediately rushed to a local community health centre and later referred to a higher centre in Dehradun.
Police, meanwhile, accused the factory management of trying to cover up the mishap. “A police team reached the spot at 11.50 am on receiving information and found the spot cleaned up. Once a complaint is lodged from the victim’s side, we will take strict action against the factory management as they did not inform us about the accident and even tried to hide it. The victim has sustained 80 per cent burns and admitted at Doon’s Mahant Indresh Hospital,” Yashpal Singh Bisht, in-charge of Laksar police station, said.
